Why EV collision repair is different — and why it matters

You can't repair a Tesla like an old Honda. EVs use aluminum body structure, high-strength steel safety cages, and a dense array of cameras and sensors that the car relies on to drive itself partially or fully. Cutting corners on any of that compromises safety and resale value.

  • Aluminum panels need aluminum-specific tooling. Steel particles contaminating aluminum will cause galvanic corrosion within months. We use dedicated aluminum tools.
  • High-strength steel reinforcement can't be repaired the same as mild steel. Some HSS components must be replaced, not pulled or heat-straightened — heating ruins the metallurgy.
  • ADAS recalibration is not optional. If a camera, radar, or sensor was moved by even a few degrees, the car's Autopilot, lane-keep, automatic emergency braking, and parking assist will be wrong. Always.
  • Color matching matters more on premium EVs. Tesla MultiCoat reds and pearl whites, Rivian launch colors, Lucid satin paints — these are precision-mixed and need spectrophotometer matching.
  • Battery safety procedures must be followed. For impacts near the battery pack, the HV system needs to be safely disabled before any cutting, welding, or even some grinding.

Your right to choose your own shop in Tennessee

Insurance companies often "recommend" shops in their direct-repair network. You don't have to use them. Under Tennessee law you have the right to choose any licensed body shop, and your insurer is required to honor that choice and pay the repair according to manufacturer specifications.

We bill State Farm, GEICO, Progressive, Allstate, USAA, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, Farmers, and every major carrier directly. If your insurance adjuster gives you a hard time about using Sevilla, call us and we'll talk to them ourselves.

Tesla & EV repair FAQs

Do you repair Tesla Model 3, Y, S, and X?
Yes — all current Tesla models including Cybertruck. Aluminum and high-strength steel repair procedures, Autopilot calibration, and OEM paint matching on every job.
What other EV brands do you work on?
Rivian, Lucid, Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, Ioniq 5/6, EV6/EV9, ID.4, Bolt, Leaf, Ariya, Polestar, Audi e-tron, BMW iX/i4, Mercedes EQ-series, and others.
Can I choose Sevilla even if my insurance recommends a different shop?
Yes. Tennessee law gives you the right to choose any licensed body shop. Your insurance must pay the repair regardless of which shop you pick.
Do you handle the high-voltage battery safely?
For repairs that don't involve the battery pack or HV system we work on the vehicle directly. For battery-area damage we follow manufacturer safe-disable procedures or partner with a certified EV specialist for that step. Safety first.
Do you recalibrate Autopilot and ADAS after the repair?
Yes — always. Every EV with disturbed cameras, radar, or sensors gets full ADAS calibration so all driver-assistance features work correctly.
